Country Music Best and More . . .

What has an odd mixture of small town innocence,
the glitz of Vegas and the contrived excitement of Disneyland?
The answer is Branson, Missouri.
Branson has
fast become a popular vacation spot for many travelers, especially
country music fans who can kick up their heels on State Route
76, now jam packed with performers vying for the attention of
visitors. The five-mile-long "Strip" glitters with
the bright lights of theaters, marquees, motels, and any number
of tourist attractions or distractions.
This country
music mecca boasts a variety of theaters, named after the celebrities
who perform in them daily. Legendary entertainers such as Roy
Clark, Jim Stafford, Mel Tillis, Mickey Gilley, Glen Campbell,
John Davidson, Bobby Vinton, Charlie Pride, Andy Williams and
the Osmond family all have theaters in the area.
If Nashville
is the country of capital music and Branson is its Broadway,
then Myrtle Beach, S.C. falls in right behind as it creates its
own little niche among these entertainment meccas.
Long
known for southern hospitality and fun in the sun, the Myrtle
Beach area proudly adds a sparkling array of bright new entertainment
jewels to its already impressive list of attractions. The area's
reputation as a family vacation destination has been enhanced
even more with the arrival of big time celebrity theaters such
as the Gatlin Brothers, Alabama, Dolly Parton's Dixieland Stampede,
Ronnie Milsap Theatre and a host of others.
In addition
to country music acts, Myrtle Beach also features a variety of
other performers and entertainers in its theaters including Magic
on Ice, the American Pride show and EuroCircus which features
high flying fun for the whole family. In November and December
famous impressionist Rich Little performs his wonderful rendition
of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol."
The newest arrival to the Grand Strand is
the 2,700-seat Palace Theatre. Located in the new Broadway at the
Beach shopping, dining and entertainment complex, the Palace
will feature entertainers such as Lou Rawls, Wayne Newton, Englebert
Humperdink and Kenny Rogers.
Don't miss
the exciting cast of stars appearing in these spectacular theaters. |
